Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and knowledgeable Wine Associate to join our retail team. Duties
- Greet customers and provide personalized wine recommendations based on their preferences and needs
- Assist with product demos to educate customers about different wines and pairings
- Maintain accurate stock levels through merchandising, stocking, and inventory management
- Operate the POS system for sales transactions, including cash handling and cashiering duties
- Upsell products to enhance customer experience and increase sales opportunities
- Ensure the sales floor is clean, organized, and visually appealing at all times
- Support with product knowledge sharing via effective communication skills and bilingual assistance if applicable
- Assist with merchandising displays to promote featured wines and seasonal selections
- Maintain phone etiquette when answering customer inquiries or providing support
Skills
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse customers
- Experience with POS systems, cashiering, retail math, and cash handling procedures
- Supervising experience is a plus for leadership roles within the team
- Ability to perform product demos confidently and educate customers about wine varieties and pairings
- Bilingual skills are desirable to serve a broader customer base
- Knowledge of grocery store operations, merchandising, stocking, and retail sales techniques
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and upselling techniques
- Basic math skills necessary for transactions, inventory counts, and retail math calculations
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment while maintaining professionalism
