Shop Helper / Yard Support – R&T Fence Company
R&T Fence Company is looking for a dependable Shop Helper to support our field crews and daily shop operations. This position plays a critical role in keeping jobs moving efficiently by preparing materials, loading trucks, and delivering parts and equipment to jobsites as needed.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is reliable, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pull and stage material orders for upcoming jobs
- Load and unload trucks with fencing materials and equipment
- Assist with building and assembling gates in the shop
- Deliver parts, materials, and equipment to jobsites as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized shop and yard
- Assist crews and management with general shop and yard tasks
Job Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50 lbs or more repeatedly
- Comfortable operating hand tools and basic shop equipment
- Ability to work outdoors and in all weather conditions
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently when needed
Preferred (But Not Required):
- Experience in a construction, warehouse, or fencing environment
- Basic mechanical or fabrication skills
- Familiarity with trailers, forklifts, or skid steers (training available if needed)
