Manufacturing Production Supervisor - Nights (6pm-6am)

JOB TITLE: Production Supervisor – Nights, 6 pm to 6 am
POSITION TYPE: Full Time

Summary:
R. Sabee Company, LLC and Draper Products, Inc. is seeking a Production Supervisor to join our team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Leads a night shift team of direct labor associates focused on meeting quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness requirements
• Train and coach operators in conjunction with team leads
• Reviews daily plant operating performance and advise on changes in working conditions that will improve efficiencies/quality
• Troubleshoots/analyses operational problems and advises resolution
• Coach performance issues and improve operational understanding/capability
• Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, direct labor pool, equipment efficiency, and materials supply to meet customer requirements
• Initiates timelines and adherence measurements to project goals; building and driving teamwork across functional areas
• Ensures compliance and safety of OSHA and company standards
• Provides intervention and progressive discipline with the guidance of HR and the senior leadership team
• Initiates and participates in process development and cost improvement projects
• Other duties as assigned

Expectations:

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures
• Always wear personal protection equipment (PPE), proper safety eyewear, steel-toed shoes, hearing protection
• Report all safety concerns and accidents to the Plant Manager and HR first aid representative immediately, no matter how minor
• Inspect the work area at the start of your shift and during your shift to see that required safety equipment is in place and operational
• Understand and follow the safety rules, policies, and procedures for each area and equipment
• Understand Lockout/Tagout out procedures
• Understand and follow the proper procedure for handling any chemicals in the area and hazardous materials
• Help drive continuous improvement through team involvement and engagement
• Interpret data, enter data collection items, and provide accurate feedback
• Act as principal interface between the operation team and the maintenance function

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree preferred
• 5 years manufacturing experience
• 2 years supervisory experience (in a union environment preferred)
• 2 years of workforce planning and process management experience (required)
• Basic knowledge of Lean and Kaizen

Physical Requirements:

• Able to routinely lift items of 40 lbs
• Able to tolerate changes in environmental temperatures
• Able to climb on rung and step-type ladders
• Crawling in and out of workstations that are not considered confined or enclosed spaces
• Must be able to read computer screens for extended period
