Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Class A CDL Driver with experience in hauling heavy and railroad maintenance equipment. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in our operations, ensuring the safe and timely transportation of vital maintenance equipment to various project sites across the midwest.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class A vehicles, low boy trailers , for the transportation of railroad maintenance equipment.
• Conduct detailed pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure all equipment meets legal and safety standards.
• Efficiently plan and navigate routes to project sites, accounting for any transport regulations specific to railroad equipment.
• Maintain open and effective communication with the dispatch team and project managers, providing updates on delivery statuses and any challenges encountered.
• Adhere strictly to DOT regulations, safety standards, and company policies at all times.
• Participate in loading and unloading operations, ensuring equipment is securely fastened and transported without incident.
• Keep accurate records of hours of service, vehicle maintenance, and equipment condition.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience in transporting heavy and specialized equipment, preferably within the railroad industry.
• Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols related to heavy equipment transport.
• Excellent planning and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to changing schedules and project needs.
• Physical ability to participate in loading and unloading operations.
• Commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
• Flexibility to work across various locations and adapt to occasional irregular hours.
