About the Role

R&S Maintenance Services, Inc. is looking for an experienced Welder/Fabricator with strong fabrication skills to join our team. Most of our work is custom, so no two days look the same. You'll handle everything from routine welds to complex builds, working with stainless steel, aluminum, sheet metal, structural steel, and other materials as projects require. This position is based in our Meriden fabrication shop, but you should be willing to travel occasionally to customer sites around Northeast Kansas for on-site welding as needed.

This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in quality work and can run a job with little to no supervision. You'll also pitch in across other areas of the company when needed. For the right person, there's real room to grow here. How far you go is up to you.

What You'll Do

• Fabricate and weld custom projects from routine to complex, with an emphasis on stainless steel
• Weld using GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), and SMAW (Stick) processes
• Read and work from blueprints, schematics, shop drawings, and as-built samples
• Operate hand and power tools of all types
• Support other departments and projects as needed
• Follow safe work practices and help keep the shop organized and safe
• Travel occasionally to customer sites throughout Northeast Kansas for field welding and repairs

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience with structural steel, sheet metal, stainless, and other alloys
• Strong GTAW and GMAW skills, especially on stainless steel fabrication
• Experience with SMAW processes
• Ability to pass AWS weld tests for certification
• Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and shop drawings, from simple to complicated
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Solid understanding of safety practices and procedures in a fabrication environment
• Ability to pass pre-employment screenings
• Willingness to travel to customer sites in Northeast Kansas as needed

Physical Requirements

• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs
• Occasionally lift and/or move 50–100 lbs

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, day shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
• 8-hour shifts
• Overtime available
