What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manual Machinist position at R/S Electric Motor Services?
Seeking experienced manual machinist with mechanical abilities to support our electric motor repair facility. Must be able to operate manual lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses. Must be able to perform calculations, calibrate machinery, and ensure high quality and precise cuts. You would be responsible for maintaining equipment as needed. This position would also include performing mechanical repairs of electric motors, the disassembly, evaluation, electrically testing, repairing as needed, assembly, and test running.
Summary
As a Manual Machinist, you will craft precision components through skilled hands-on operation of milling and turning equipment. Reporting to the shop supervisor, you will interpret mechanical blueprints, select appropriate tooling, and execute machining tasks to exact specifications. You will apply core skills in measurement, setup, and process control, while leveraging premium capabilities in CAM, CAD/SolidWorks, and advanced machining techniques to ensure quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
