Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy construction equipment including loaders, backhoes, cranes, bulldozers, and excavators to perform site preparation, material handling, and grading tasks
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of construction sites by moving materials and equipment using roll-off trucks, front loader trucks, or other material handling machinery
- Follow all safety procedures and occupational safety regulations to maintain a secure work environment for yourself and team members
- Collaborate with project managers and crew members to execute construction plans efficiently while adhering to project timelines
- Operate specialized equipment such as concrete mixers, Caterpillar machinery, or farm-related equipment as needed for specific project requirements
- Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, inspections, and maintenance activities
Skills
- Proven experience operating construction machinery such as loaders, backhoes, cranes, forklifts, and other heavy equipment on construction sites
- Strong mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and performing basic repairs on hydraulics and other machinery components
- Familiarity with construction safety procedures including PPE use and adherence to safety regulations
- Ability to operate material handling equipment like roll-off trucks, front loader trucks, and farm machinery efficiently.
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance routines to ensure longevity and safe operation of machinery
- Hands-on experience with hand tools and general construction site activities
