About the Role
We are seeking an experienced HR professional to join the RRP team. This newly created role will help manage personnel matters and support efficient HR operations. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to supporting employees and the firm’s growth. This position will report to RRP's in-house legal counsel.

RRP Consulting Engineers is a mid-sized civil engineering firm with offices in Houston, San Antonio, and McAllen. The firm recently celebrated its three-year anniversary and is built on a team of seasoned professionals who have collaborated on and delivered projects for many years. RRP serves clients across Texas and other states, with a specialty in port-of-entry projects between the United States and Mexico.
Key Responsibilities
• Personnel Management: Manage employee relations, address personnel issues, and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Job Descriptions: Develop and maintain accurate job descriptions for all roles and support employee recruitment.
• Benefits Administration: Oversee employee benefits programs, including 401(k) plans, health insurance, and related offerings.
• Onboarding: Create a modern, welcoming onboarding process that helps new hires transition smoothly into the firm.
• Employee Growth: Support career development, training programs such as “lunch and learns” and “town halls,” and performance management.
• Policy Compliance: Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal HR policies.
• Travel: Meet with employees at the Houston and San Antonio offices.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 5 years of HR experience, preferably ina similar industry.
• Strong knowledge of 401(k) administration, recruitment, benefits administration, and Texas employment law.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience supporting supervisors with recruitment, performance management, and career development.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
• Society for Human Resource Management – Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or higher designation preferred.
• HR experience supporting multiple offices or geographic regions preferred.
• Proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
