Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs
• Accurately document customer descriptions of vehicle issues and translate them into detailed repair orders using auto estimating software
• Communicate effectively with technicians to relay customer concerns and facilitate timely repairs
• Recommend additional services such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire services, suspension work, or transmission diagnostics to enhance vehicle performance and safety
• Upsell appropriate maintenance packages and repairs to maximize customer satisfaction and dealership revenue
• Manage vehicle drop-off and pick-up processes, ensuring smooth customer flow and satisfaction
• Handle cash transactions, process payments accurately, and maintain detailed service records
• Stay informed about the latest automotive repair techniques including diesel engine repair, auto body repair, air brake systems, shocks & struts, alignment, and other mechanical services
• Assist in vehicle inspections for maintenance or repairs, leveraging mechanic experience when needed to provide technical insights
• Maintain a professional appearance of the service department and foster positive relationships with customers to encourage repeat business

Experience

• Prior dealership experience or auto service management background is highly preferred
• Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and vehicle maintenance procedures
• Proven ability in auto estimating, service writing, and automotive repair processes
• Experience with upselling services while maintaining integrity and customer trust
• Familiarity with a wide range of automotive systems including transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, tire service, suspension work, shocks & struts, alignment, diesel engines, air brakes, and auto body repairs
• Excellent customer service skills with a focus on clear communication and problem-solving
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Sales experience related to automobile sales or parts is a plus but not mandatory
