In this role, you will provide essential support across a variety of legal practice areas, including litigation support, estate planning, family law, criminal law, commercial law, and more. - Assist attorney with case preparation by conducting thorough legal research using LexisNexis, and other legal research tools.
- Draft, review, and proofread legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, affidavits, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
- Manage legal case files using document management systems like iManage and PCLaw to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
- Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses to gather pertinent information for cases involving personal injury law, workers' compensation, or family law matters.
- Support litigation processes through document review, organization of evidence, and preparation of trial materials.
- Perform administrative duties including data entry, filing, scheduling appointments, and managing phone etiquette to ensure smooth office operations.
- Conduct legal research on specialized areas pertinent to this Office's practice and to support attorneys’ strategic initiatives.
- Provide executive administrative support by coordinating meetings, managing calendars, and preparing reports as needed.
- Proven experience as a paralegal with a strong background in diverse practice areas such as estate planning, criminal law, family law, commercial law, some personal injury law and litigation practice.
- Exceptional legal research skills utilizing LexisNexis, and other research platforms.
- Proficiency in legal case management software including CLIO, Microsoft Office and Adobe; familiarity with document review and management systems is highly desirable. Will train on CLIO Management.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence with clarity and professionalism.
- Strong proofreading and transcription abilities to ensure accuracy in all documentation.
- Effective organizational skills for managing multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to perform data entry accurately while adhering to filing protocols within a busy law office environment.
- Superior communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette for interacting with clients and team members effectively.
