R&M Trucking Co. is a family owned and operated company that has proudly served the local air and ocean freight forwarding, as well as common carrier LTL service industry for the past 45 years! R&M's main office is located in Bensenville (IL), as well as an intermodal terminal located in Elwood (IL). Positions available at both offices for Intermodal Customer Service Representative (CSR).
Job Responsibilities: Intermodal CSR
- Promptly respond to customer inquiries by phone and email. Including but not limited to; schedule pickups and deliveries, provide status updates, advise of any delays or complications.
- Data entry of order information for billing/accounting team.
- Update dispatch team of any pertinent information that must be communicated to our company drivers or owner operators, such as specialty freight, or lock-out times.
- Handle and resolve customer concerns.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing customer base.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 2 years experience with international containers and intermodal trucking.
- 2 years experience as a customer service representative.
- Understanding and knowledge of Chicagoland railyards, depots and steamship lines.
- Understanding and knowledge of the transportation industry.
- Excellent written and oral communication.
- Great problem solving skills.
- Outgoing and confident in professional settings.
- Professionalism, patience, and "people-first" attitude.
- Ability to work with MS Office and other data programs.
- High school diploma required. Associate's Degree preferred.
Schedule & Overtime
- Monday-Friday, start time to be discussed anywhere from 7am-9am.
- Shift length varies day to day, however, on Average Intermodal CSR work between 8.5 to 9.5 hours per day.
- Overtime pay (time and a half) after 40 hours per week. Additional overtime avaialble if desired.
- Although not common, some schedule flexibility is required to adjust schedule as needed for operations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
