Responsibilities
- Safely operate a variety of trucks including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other specialized vehicles.
- Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Execute route driving with precision, adhering to schedules and traffic laws to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety and compliance standards.
- Manage documentation related to deliveries, pickups, load manifests, and delivery receipts accurately.
- Communicate proactively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delays, or issues encountered during transit.
- Maintain a professional appearance and represent the company positively during all customer interactions.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with endorsements relevant to the vehicle type (e.g., tanker, flatbed).
- Proven experience in truck driving, including delivery driver roles involving freight handling.
- Skilled in operating manual transmission vehicles and various truck types such as tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks.
- Ability to load & unload freight safely using forklifts or other equipment when required.
- Strong knowledge of route planning and navigation tools for efficient deliveries.
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance with transportation regulations.
