JOB SUMMARY
R & M Coffee Bar & Lounge is seeking a dependable, friendly and energetic Coffee Lounge Attendant to join our team. This position combines beverage preparation, light food service, cashier responsibilities and guest hospitality.
This is not a traditional specialty-barista position. Previous barista experience is welcomed but not required. We will train the right candidate to operate our equipment and prepare our signature drinks according to established recipes.
The ideal candidate is organized, attentive to detail, comfortable working independently and committed to maintaining a clean and welcoming lounge.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcome guests and provide friendly, attentive customer service
- Prepare coffee, espresso drinks, refreshers and seasonal beverages
- Follow established recipes, portions and presentation standards
- Heat and assemble croissants, flatbreads and other light lounge items
- Prepare and stock grab-and-go products as assigned
- Operate the Square point-of-sale system and process payments accurately
- Restock cups, lids, ingredients, supplies and merchandise
- Monitor product quality, freshness and proper storage
- Maintain a clean and organized beverage and food-preparation area
- Clean tables, counters, equipment and guest areas throughout the shift
- Complete assigned opening, shift-change and closing checklists
- Follow food-safety, sanitation and workplace policies
- Communicate product or equipment concerns to management promptly
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous coffee, restaurant, retail or customer-service experience is preferred but not required
- Willing and able to learn beverage and food recipes
- Dependable, punctual and able to follow written procedures
- Friendly and professional when interacting with guests
- Able to multitask and remain organized during busy periods
- Comfortable working independently after training
- Able to handle cash and electronic payments responsibly
- Must maintain a clean and professional appearance
- Weekend availability is required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand and move throughout the scheduled shift
- Ability to bend, reach and perform routine cleaning duties
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 25 pounds
SCHEDULE
This is a full-time position. Morning, daytime and weekend availability may be required based on business needs.
