As a member of our team, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Supervising the day-to-day operations of the yard including (but not limited to) shipping, transfers, receiving, customer service, safety and inventory control.
- Hiring and training of new employees as well as administrating formal training and safety programs for all yard employees.
- Assisting customers with their lumber and building material needs.
- Building loads for daily deliveries and receiving orders from vendors.
- The individual will work closely with the Dispatcher and General Manager.
Experience:
- At least 3-5 years in a supervisory role, demonstrating strong communication, conflict management, assertiveness, leadership, team building, and coaching/mentoring skills. Proven ability to motivate, engage, and effectively lead a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Include working outdoors in all seasons, performing heavy lifting, ability to be on feet all day, use of ladders, forklifts and other power equipment as needed.
Overtime pay potential.
