Heavy Equipment Mechanic Job Description R.J. Grondin & Sons is currently looking for a qualified Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join the team. Diagnose, adjust, repair, and overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment such as bull dozers, graders, excavators, conveyors, crushers, and heavy haul trucks all used in the construction and surface mining industry. Responsibilities: Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices. Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges Keep detailed service records on equipment, vehicles and trucks Operate all types of mobile equipment safely to determine best method to repair Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
