What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, Safety position at R.H. White Construction?
Position Summary:
The Safety Director is responsible for developing safety strategies to ensure the health and safety of employees as well as organization compliance with applicable federal, state, local and corporate safety regulations/requirements. The Director is also responsible for developing a vision for company safety with the owners and driving the company to a safer, more productive labor force. Must be able to successfully communicate at all levels of the organization as well as with outside vendors and customers.
Hiring Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety/health or equivalent combination of training and related experience required. Minimum of ten years' experience in Construction Safety, with increasing responsibility at a construction company or similar organization. Thorough understanding of and ability to enforce all federal, state, local and company regulations.
- 15 years' experience in a Safety Related management role.
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations required.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills required. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and lead a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Demonstrated ability to understand and apply company, federal, and state construction safety regulations.
