R.H. Batterman and Co., Inc. (Batterman) is adding to our Professional Surveying Team due to company growth and the implementation of our company strategic plan. We are an established multi-discipline firm with a successful and long history as a leader in the Civil Engineering and Survey Profession. Over the past 107 years, our firm of over 40 employees has not encountered much turnover, other than through planned retirements. Position Description – Professional Land Surveyor / Project Manager
As part of our growing survey team, you will provide expertise on a wide variety of surveying tasks, for both private and public clients, including preparing survey documents and working directly with staff and clients. This position offers tremendous growth opportunity and will require working knowledge of survey standards and procedures. A successful candite will need to have a background in or a desire to learn about the following areas:
- Experience in contract administration.
- Proficient in project management.
- Competent in land records research.
- Familiarity with supervision or performing survey data collection.
- AutoCAD proficiency is a must and knowledge of Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center would be a plus.
- Experience in a wide variety of surveys including boundary, topographic, route, right-of-way, ALTA/NSPS Land Title, land division, subdivision, annexation, easement exhibits, and legal descriptions.
- Familiarity in preparation of Right of Way and Transportation Project Plats and the Facility Development Manual.
- Proficient with working with municipalities including understanding ordinances, applications and presentations at public meetings.
- Knowledgeable with Trimble survey equipment.
- Knowledgeable about LiDAR methods and usage.
- Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
This position will require detailed collaboration to maintain project timelines, budgets, and client expectations. We are looking for someone who enjoys the client side of land surveying and who has experience or an interest in preparing proposals and project budgets.

- Registered Land Surveyor in the State of Wisconsin or ability to become registered within 6 months of employment will be required, certification in the State of Illinois would be a plus.

Salary : $80,000 - $110,000
