R&E Enterprises is looking for a dependable, hardworking Shop Technician to join our team.
We are a family-owned road construction company looking for someone who enjoys working with their hands and has experience maintaining and repairing trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, and other construction equipment.
This is a full-time, year-round position with a combination of shop maintenance, equipment repairs, and field support.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trucks, trailers, and heavy construction equipment
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine necessary repairs
- Perform oil changes, lubrication, filter changes, and other preventative maintenance
- Inspect equipment and identify potential maintenance issues before they become major problems
- Repair and maintain hydraulic, electrical, brake, and other mechanical systems
- Perform welding and fabrication repairs as needed
- Assist with DOT inspections and required repairs
- Respond to equipment breakdowns in the field when needed
- Work with drivers and operators to identify and resolve equipment problems
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs
- Keep the shop, tools, and work areas clean and organized
- Help prepare equipment for the upcoming construction season
- Perform other general shop and maintenance duties as needed
Weekend Equipment Maintenance
This position will include one ½-day weekend shift each week to maintain and service equipment back at the yard.
Weekend responsibilities may include:
- Washing and cleaning equipment
- Lubricating and servicing equipment
- Checking fluids and performing preventative maintenance
- Making minor repairs
- Preparing trucks and equipment for the upcoming work week
- Identifying equipment that needs additional repairs or service
The weekend schedule will be coordinated with the shop schedules.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a mechanic, diesel technician, or heavy equipment technician preferred
- Experience working on heavy trucks and construction equipment preferred
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems
- Basic welding and fabrication skills preferred
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely
- CDL is a plus, but not required
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Dependable and self-motivated
- Ability to work independently and prioritize work
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

Schedule
Monday–Friday: Regular shop hours
One ½-day weekend shift: Equipment maintenance and servicing back at the yard.
Additional overtime or after-hours work may occasionally be required during the busy season.
