Production Supervisor for Dental Lab (CAD/CAM)
Job Summary: The CADCAM Supervisor manages the CADCAM workflow and process to ensure quality products are done on schedule and efficiently. Are you the person who fixes the process before anyone else notices its broken? R-Dent's CADCAM Supervisor will own the technology hub of our production operation. We're a regional dental lab with over 45 years of history, and we're moving fast into AI-driven digital dentistry. This role is for someone who lives at the intersection of technology, process, and speed.
Compensation Range: $60000-$75000 annual equivalent (depending on skill, experience, and ability), plus performance-based incentive program (salaried/exempt).
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm (or until job is done); some weekends possible
What You'll Own:- Full oversight of our CAD/CAM department - designing (crowns, bridges, implants, dentures), milling, and 3D printing and associated workflows
- Coordination with cutting-edge AI-powered outsourced design partners (Dentscape, 3Shape Automate, Evismart)
- Operation and supervision of 3D Printing and Milling equipment and software, including Roland CNC mills (eg 53DC (x2), 52DCi (x1), 51D (x1) - running zirconia and PMMA), 3D Printers (eg Carbon M3/M2, Asiga Max, and Heygears A2D across multiple device workflows), and OQCAM AI-driven CAM software management for all milling and printing strategies)
- Setting quality checkpoints to ensure seamless timely workflow between departments (ie product will be correctly designed, printed and milled in CADCAM on schedule and then next sent to the Fixed or Removable department)
- Implementing continuous pro-active process improvement - finding bottlenecks, building SOPs, automating wherever possible without being asked
- Interacting with doctors to solve problems when necessary
- Ensuring that your team is trained on the latest technology and processes to increase production efficiency at all times
- Seat on R-Dent's EOS Management Leadership Team
- CAD Design in dental, manufacturing, engineering, product design, or similar field

- Experience with manufacturing automation platforms or AI-driven software tools
- Manufacturing process-improvement (eg Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent)
- Dental laboratory or dental industry background
- Logistics and workflow management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with 3Shape, OQCAM, Roland mills, Carbon, Asiga Max, or Heygears systems
- Prior supervisory experience
The Person We're Looking For
- Process-obsessed. You see a workflow and immediately ask: what's broken, what's redundant, what can be automated? You have strong process documentation and SOP development skills
- AI-hungry. You don't wait to be told about new tools. You find them. You test them. You implement them. You stay current because you want to, not because your job requires it.
- Technology-first mindset. Your default question is: how do we do this without adding a person? You automate before you hire. You find AI/Automation tools, test them, and implement them on your own.
- Bottleneck hunter. When something slows down, you're already investigating before anyone asks. You diagnose fast, differentiate between a process problem and a people problem, and come up with a great solution.
- Self-directed learner. Give you a gap in your knowledge and you fill it. Dental anatomy? If you are unfamiliar with the dental lab terminology and processes, you'll build your own AI-assisted study guide and know it in two weeks. You don't wait for training. You create it.
- Competitive by nature. You treat operational excellence like a game you intend to win. You're not satisfied with good enough.
- Collaborative communicator. You work closely with other department leaders and lead your team so the company and employees thrive. You understand that your department is the hub, is critical to the success of the entire company, and you operate accordingly (eg with clarity, urgency, and respect for other teams' timelines).
- Adapts Easily. High change environment. Rapid technology shifts. You don't get rattled. You adapt and lead others through it.
- Must be eighteen or older and authorized to work in the U.S.
