Engagement Model: Full-time, onshore presence (client site/hybrid)
Reports To: Team Lead / Implementation Manager
Role Summary Technical authority for Earnix platform configuration, customization, and integration. Ensures solution aligns with industry best practices and the client's non-functional requirements (NFRs). Owns Earnix design decisions, performance validation, and integration with pricing data platform.
Key Responsibilities
Stakeholder & Governance
- Partner with the company pricing, systems, and operations teams to define Earnix requirements and acceptance criteria
- Represent Earnix perspective in technical cadences and architecture reviews
- Conduct capability refinement workshops; articulate issues and support required for solution refinement
- Validate Earnix solution against performance, scalability, reusability, and maintainability standards
Technical Design & Implementation Oversight
- Design Earnix configuration, custom parameters, and integration points
- Collaborate with architects to align Earnix solution with shared technical direction
- Identify alternative approaches and validate alignment to OOTB/industry best practices
- Oversee offshore Earnix engineer's implementation; conduct code and configuration reviews
- Manage Earnix NFR strategy (performance tuning, capacity planning, disaster recovery)
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
- Author functional and technical specifications for Earnix configuration
- Document custom parameters, integration logic, and decision rationale
- Create operational documentation (SOPs, runbooks, troubleshooting guides)
- Support knowledge transfer to the company operations and support teams
Required Technical Skills
- Expert-level Earnix platform knowledge (rating engine, product configuration, customization)
- Insurance/pricing domain expertise (rating methodologies, product structures, risk assessment)
- Integration architecture (APIs, middleware, data flows)
- Python scripting for Earnix customizations and testing
- SQL and database optimization
- Performance tuning and NFR validation methodologies
Required Experience
- 5 years with Earnix platform (implementation, optimization, or support)
- 2 Earnix projects deployed to production
- 5 years in insurance pricing or actuarial roles
- Demonstrated ability to balance OOTB solutions with custom requirements
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and documenting technical decisions
Success Metrics
- Earnix configuration design signed off within 4 months
- Solution meets all agreed NFRs (performance thresholds, scalability targets)
- Custom parameter and integration design documents > 95% complete before offshore build
- stakeholder satisfaction > 4/5 on technical depth and advisory value
