What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation Assembler position at Röchling Industrial?
Where we need you
Under the direction of the Plant Operations Manager and Production Supervisor, the Transportation Assembler performs high-precision assembly, structural bonding, and architectural finishing of passenger train car interior panels. This role is critical to the delivery of safe, aesthetically flawless transit environments.
You will work with advanced composites, laminates, and lightweight alloys to build the walls, ceilings, and integrated partitions used in modern rail cars. We provide a stable, climate-controlled, and "coolant-free" work environment for professionals who take pride in craftsmanship and precision.
The following duties are representative of the role; additional tasks may be assigned as production needs evolve.
The Röchling Group has been shaping industry. Worldwide. For more than 200 years. We transform the lives of people every day with our customized plastics: they reduce the weight of cars, make medication packaging more secure and improve industrial applications. Our workforce of 11.681 people is located in the places where our customers are – in 83 locations in 25 countries.

- Precision Interior Assembly: Execute the complex assembly of multi-component interior panels, including the integration of inserts, mounting brackets, and structural stiffeners.
- Structural Bonding & Adhesives: Apply technical adhesives and sealants according to specific curing times and weight-loading requirements to ensure panels meet rail safety and vibration standards.
- Architectural Finishing: Use pneumatic ratchets, drivers, and precision sanders to ensure seamless joints. Perform final deburring and surface preparation to meet "Class A" visual standards.
- Hardware Integration: Install secondary components such as window shades, air ducting interfaces, and grab-bar reinforcements into interior panels.
- Quality Assurance & Documentation: Conduct detailed "first-article" inspections and complete production logs to ensure full traceability of all safety-critical rail components.
- Material Handling: Safe maneuvering of large-scale, fragile panel sections using pallet jacks or specialized vacuum-lifting equipment.
- Blueprint Proficiency: Advanced ability to read and interpret technical prints, assembly diagrams, and customer-specific engineering instructions.
- Technical Tooling: Expert proficiency with pneumatic power tools, torque wrenches, and precision hand tools used in high-end composite manufacturing.
- Precision Measurement: Mastery of measuring instruments, specifically calipers, micrometers, and tape measures, for verifying critical interior dimensions.
- Mathematical Competence: Strong shop math skills, including the ability to accurately convert between Metric and Standard systems.
