JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a motivated Class A Driver to join our team at our Poland, ME location. Convenient parking in Poland, Saco, or Hollis. R.C. Moore is seeking a skilled and dependable Truck Driver to operate commercial vehicles across various routes, including regional driving. (This role offers consistent schedules) The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting freight safely and efficiently, adhering to all federal and state regulations. Experience with different types of trailers such as 48’&53’ box vans and tankers is highly desirable. This role requires a focus on safety, logistics of cargo handling, and excellent driving skills to ensure timely deliveries while maintaining compliance with FMCSA, DOT regulations, and company policies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Tractor-trailers are safely operated with all dry vans and tankers across assigned routes.
- Navigate using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
- Comply with all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle inspections, and delivery documentation in accordance with regulatory standards through use of ELD and workflow apps.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly.
- Follow route schedules for delivery driving, ensuring cargo is delivered on time while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain communication with dispatch regarding route progress, delays, or issues encountered during transit.
REQUIREMENTS
- A valid commercial driver’s license (CDL-A) is required for the vehicle type being operated.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and DOT regulations.
- Experience with transportation, freight logistics, and retail store deliveries is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of truck loading/unloading procedures and logistics cargo handling.
- Ability to pass pre-employment background checks and drug screenings as required by federal regulations.
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety and adherence to all traffic laws.
- Strong customer service skills and relationship skills are beneficial.
