JOB SUMMARY
The Production Control position is responsible for providing support to the Purchasing department, including the organization of the tool crib, maintenance of inventory levels, and placing of order with vendors. This position is also responsible for providing administrative support to the maintenance department.
Reports to: Purchasing /Production/Operations Plant Manager
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Purchase supplies and services to support the operation of all departments and issue purchase orders.
- Maintain Odyssey system in regard to purchasing.
- Maintenance of SDS system, including obtaining the SDS for new products
- Enforce and adhere to the plant’s Purchasing Procedure.
- Generate purchase orders accurately detailing all information regarding purchases.
- Maintain all purchasing records.
- Monitor back-order items to ensure delivery and correct payment.
- Maintain Tool Crib and Office Stock room inventories.
- Participate in cost improvement projects.
- Monitor purchases to detect excessive consumption/cost and inform management of problems.
- Consolidate RCM division purchases where applicable to get volume discounts.
- Maintain minimum inventory levels of key supplies
- Coordinate delivery and shipments with Shipping/Receiving Department.
- Ensure that independent contractors have workman's compensation and general liability insurance prior to working on company property. Also ensure that independent contractors are licensed locally. Keep insurance records on file and acquire Waiver of Liens when applicable.
- Ensure that production is using correct shop cards
- Projects as assigned by Purchasing /Production/Operations Plant Manager.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required
- 2-Year degree is preferred
Experience
- 1 to 2 Years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Requirements and Certifications
- Computer literate with Microsoft Office and other applications such as Odyssey
- (Illinois) Bilingual English-Spanish
