Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Local Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial driving, with experience operating various types of vehicles including tractor-trailers and flatbeds. This role requires a commitment to safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction as you transport goods to various locations within the local area.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, etc.
- Execute route driving to deliver freight in a timely manner while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or other equipment as necessary.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle maintenance, and any incidents that occur during transport.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving roles is essential.
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is required.
- Experience operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is highly desirable.
- Ideal candidate - Ability to load and unload freight efficiently while maintaining safety standards
- Strong knowledge of local routes and traffic patterns is advantageous.
