R&B is looking for a motivated, hardworking Sewer & Drain Cleaning technician to join our team. We are specifically looking for someone with experience who will work weekends, with the opportunity for possible work Monday through Friday. All weekend work is paid at 1.5x your hourly rate. The R&B Sewer Line Opening Technician is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and repair of sewer lines to ensure the proper functioning of wastewater systems. This role involves using specialized equipment to conduct camera inspections, excavate and open lines, jet sewer lines for cleaning, and handle concrete work. The technician will also be required to perform plumbing-related tasks when necessary. Strong mechanical skills, attention to safety, and ability to work in varying environmental conditions are essential for this role.

Key Functions:

  • Camera Inspections: Conduct detailed inspections of sewer lines using high-resolution cameras to identify blockages, leaks, and structural damage, document inspection results and generate reports for further assessment and action, and troubleshoot issues detected during camera inspections and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Concrete Work: Cut, break, and remove concrete structures as part of excavation and sewer line repairs, assist in the installation of new concrete work when needed for sewer line infrastructure, and ensure safe handling of tools and materials required for concrete cutting and pouring.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain a variety of specialized equipment including mini excavators, skid loaders, and other tools used for sewer line maintenance and repairs, conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure compliance safety standards.
  • Excavation: Dig trenches to expose damaged or blocked sewer lines for repair and maintenance, follow site safety protocols and maintain safe work areas during excavation, as well as backfill and restore sites post-repair when excavation work is completed.
  • Jetting: Use high pressure water jetting equipment to clean out debris, grease, and sediment from sewer lines, inspect and diagnose the condition of the sewer lines during jetting operations to identify any further issues, and safely operate and maintain jetting equipment while ensuring optimal pressure levels for effective cleaning.
  • Line Opening and Repair: Open clogged or blocked sewer lines using a combination of methods, including jetting, snaking, and cutting and repair damaged sewer lines, including the replacement of pipes and fittings, and ensure proper sealing and reconnection of sewer lines after repairs are completed.
  • Plumbing Tasks: Assist in plumbing-related tasks, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of pipes and fittings in conjunction with sewer line systems, and ensure that plumbing systems comply with local codes and regulations, as well as provide emergency plumbing services in cases of sewer backup or system failure.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to document and report findings clearly and effectively, both written and verbally, to supervisors and clients.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, digging, and working in confined spaces.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to safety standards and regulations in excavation, construction, and plumbing work.
  • Knowledge of sewer line maintenance or related field (plumbing, construction, etc.).
  • Proficient in operating excavation equipment, jetting equipment, and camera systems for inspections.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and ability to troubleshoot equipment and plumbing issues.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for minimum of 5 years.
  • Any relevant pluming or excavation certifications are preferred (e.g., CDL, OSHA certification, etc.).

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $ $27.00 per hour
