R.B. Hinkle is adding an Assistant Project Manager to its growing Sterling, VA Team! The APM will work alongside a Project Manager to plan and execute company projects.R.B. Hinkle is an underground and overhead utility contractor, specializing in the installation of conduit, manholes and streetlights through trenching, directional, drilling and moling. The company also provides underground cable installation, including new cable, replacements, upgrades and service restoration.Main Responsibilities and Functions:Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projectsEnsure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budgetAssist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibilityEnsure resource availability and allocationDevelop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progressMeasure project performance using appropriate tools and techniquesReport and escalate to management as neededEstablish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendorsCreate and maintain comprehensive project documentationMeet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each projectHelps with project tasks based on junior staff members individual strengths, skill sets and experience levelsMeet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to projectDevelop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needsAttend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiencyUse and continually develop leadership skillsPerform other related duties as assignedWork Experience and Education Requirements:Proven working experience in project managementExcellent client-facing and internal communication skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsSolid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skillsStrong working knowledge of Microsoft OfficeBachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experienceSkills and Knowledge:Developing and tracking budgetsProcess ImprovementPlanningInventory controlVerbal CommunicationSAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:Safety is a shared responsibility of all R.
