Restaurant Captain

Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Restaurant Captain to oversee daily operations in a fast-paced dining environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive food service knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. The Restaurant Captain will play a pivotal role in managing staff, coordinating food and beverage service, and upholding the restaurant’s reputation for excellence.

Duties

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of restaurant staff to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Oversee food preparation, presentation, and quality control to meet established standards.
• Manage POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing, billing, and cash handling.
• Assist with inventory control, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste.
• Train new staff members on food safety, customer service protocols, and operational procedures.
• Lead shift management by organizing staff schedules and ensuring proper coverage during peak hours.
• Maintain high standards of hospitality and customer service to enhance guest satisfaction.
• Oversee kitchen operations related to food production, catering, banquets, or bar services as needed.
• Ensure compliance with health regulations and food safety standards across all restaurant functions.
• Support management in budgeting, cost control, and overall restaurant performance improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in food industry management roles such as restaurant supervisor, assistant manager, or similar leadership positions.
• Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary practices, and kitchen management.
• Familiarity with POS systems including Aloha POS and Micros POS; cash handling experience required.
• Strong leadership skills with experience in staff training, team management, and supervising diverse teams.
• Background in hospitality management with experience in casual dining, fine dining, catering, or hotel environments preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle guest concerns professionally.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations; previous experience with food handling certifications is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
