Duties
- Assist in the installation of landscape features including patios, walkways, retaining walls, and other hardscape elements using power tools and construction equipment such as excavators.
- Prepare sites by clearing debris, grading soil, and setting foundations for planting or construction.
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment like mowers, trimmers, blowers, and irrigation systems to ensure pristine landscape conditions.
- Plant trees, shrubs, flowers, and other greenery while correctly identifying plants and applying appropriate horticultural techniques.
- Maintain existing landscapes through pruning, trimming, fertilizing, pest management, and seasonal snow plowing when necessary.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all tasks to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Support team members in executing outdoor projects efficiently while adhering to project timelines and quality standards.
Experience
- Previous outdoor work experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, or construction is highly preferred, but not required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of landscape maintenance practices including mowing, pruning, planting, and pest management.
- Familiarity with landscape construction tools such as hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery like excavators.
- Understanding of irrigation systems installation and repair processes.
- Ability to identify various plants and trees accurately; knowledge of horticulture principles is a plus.
- Experience operating groundskeeping equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols with the ability to follow detailed instructions for complex tasks involving hardscape installation or tree care.
