We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Millwork Finisher to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying finishing touches to custom millwork products, ensuring they meet high-quality standards and aesthetic requirements. Your expertise will help transform raw materials into polished, professional-grade pieces that enhance architectural projects and interior designs.

Duties

• Prepare millwork surfaces by sanding, grinding, and cleaning to ensure smooth finishes.
• Apply paints, stains, lacquers, and industrial or auto body paints using airless spray equipment or hand tools.
• Possible use precision measuring instruments and hand tools to verify dimensions and alignment of finished products.
• Possible use of power tools such as drills, sanders, grinders, and welding equipment safely and efficiently.
• Handle materials carefully with forklifts or cranes to move components within the workspace.
• Perform fabrication tasks including cutting, shaping, and assembling parts with accuracy.
• Conduct quality inspections throughout the finishing process to ensure consistency and adherence to specifications.
• Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of waste materials properly.
• Follow safety protocols related to industrial painting, machining, welding, and materials handling.
• Assist in auto painting or auto body repair processes as needed for specific projects.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in manufacturing, woodworking, or construction painting is highly desirable.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
• Knowledge of industrial painting techniques including airless paint spraying and auto painting.
• Mechanical knowledge related to machining, fabrication, and materials handling equipment such as forklifts and cranes.
• Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality assessments.
• Warehouse experience or familiarity with materials organization is a plus.

Finisher Job Descriptions:

I. Entry-Level Finisher

• Sprays primers, sealers, and standard topcoats (lacquer, varnish, poly, etc.)
• Prepares parts by sanding and cleaning
• Uses HVLP or airless spray systems
• Assists with mixing finishes and maintaining equipment
• Follows production and safety procedures

II. Advanced Finisher

• Applies custom stains, glazes, toners, and multi-step finishes
• Performs color-matching and adjusts as needed
• Executes complex finishing processes with precision
• Repairs and touches up finishes as needed
• Maintains premium finish quality across projects

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those encountered by employees performing essential job functions.

· Work station is indoors in a typical manufacturing facility with heat, but no air conditioning and occasional outdoor work may be required

· Must wear safety glasses while working

· Must use hearing protection when required

· Dust masks may be used if desired

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the incumbent to successfully perform essential job functions.

· Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more on a regular basis

· Must be able to bend, lift, squat, and/or kneel for an extended period of time

· Must be able to stand and walk on concrete floors for full shift, usually 8 to 10 hours
