What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Services Representative position at Qwibil, Inc?
The Patient Services Representative (PSR) provides a variety of office and administrative support services including reception, scheduling, verifying patient insurance eligibility, reminder calls for the next day appointment, check-in and checkout appointments, and other general office duties.
Primary Duties will include:
Greets patients and visitors professionally, uses appropriate tone, is pleasant and courteous at all times.
· Interacts effectively and positively with patients, coworkers, and external clients at all times.
· Coordinates communication and information across the clinic.
· Maintains a high level of professionalism when interacting with internal and external customers.
· Navigates through multiple software systems including EHR, Microsoft Office, and other resources web portal.
· Directs patients appropriately to receive services.
· Schedules, cancels, and reschedules appointments according to patient request and/or scheduling guidelines.
· Maintains schedule accuracy by reviewing the schedule, and providing feedback to team members.
· Performs scheduling and general office related duties.
· Verifies and updates patient’s demographic and insurance information.
· Identifies, collects, and posts co-payment and fees.
· Enrolls patient to Patient Portal.
· Checks patients in and out for appointments including scheduling future appointment as instructed.
· Arranges for specific patient needs for the time of appointment, such as an interpreter, wheelchair, etc.
· Performs daily cash reconciliation and prepares reports.
· Makes reminder calls to patients for next day appointment and documents in EHR System.
· Processes No Show letter and implements No Show Policy process as needed. Documents in EHR System.
· Accepts and completes EHR inbox and Patient Portal tasking from Clinical Team and Patient Portal for assistance with scheduling appointment and other necessary communication between providers and patients.
· Documents patient communication in EHR and assigns task to appropriate staff and/or departments for follow-up.
· Prepares next day and 7 days schedule for emergency preparedness.
· Posts clinic closure sign for holidays and/or meetings.
· Explains regulations, rules and policies to patients and apprises them of their rights.
· Assists with patient complaints/grievances and provides satisfactory resolution.
- Contributes to team effort by achieving satisfactory results.
- Other Duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Highschool diploma or equivalent required.
- Two (2) years in a health care setting required. Two (2) years in customer service required.
- Knowledge in Medical Terminology, EHR and Insurance Eligibility required.
- Knowledge in Medical Terminology, EHR and Insurance Eligibility required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required.
- Clinical experience as a Medical Assistant or other AHP preferred is a plus.
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
