Scientist/Sr. Scientist

Qureator
San Diego, CA Full Time
POSTED ON 6/24/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 12/19/2026

About Us

Headquartered in San Diego, California, we are an early-stage, well-funded Biotech company specializing in innovative drug discovery solutions. Our proprietary 3D organ-on-a-chip platform, Curiochips, offers significant advantages in accurately recapitulating both normal and disease states of the human body. This capability has been validated through multiple ongoing collaborations with hospitals, government institutions, and major pharmaceutical companies.

Our Mission

At Qureator Inc., we are committed to revolutionizing the drug discovery process. Our mission is driven by the Qureator platform's unparalleled ability to replicate complex disease phenotypes, surpassing the limitations of traditional preclinical models. By bridging the gap between laboratory research and real patient outcomes, we aim to accelerate the development of treatments for a wide range of conditions, from cancers to rare diseases.

Our Approach

We tackle diseases that lack clear in vitro models, setting new standards in preclinical research. Our comprehensive approach to phenotypic analysis includes detailed disease tissue phenotyping, which is essential for observing complex drug responses. This effort is crucial for advancing treatments informed by the complexities of human biology.

Position Overview

We are seeking a brilliant, highly organized, and collaborative Scientist or Senior Scientist to join our growing research team at Qureator. In this role, you will bridge the gap between cutting-edge bench science and advanced data analytics. You will take the lead on maintaining our advanced organoid culture systems, scaling up our patient-derived cell bank, and working hand-in-hand with our Data Science team to translate multi-omic data into breakthroughs.

If you are a PhD-level scientist who loves both the art of cell culture and the structured world of data, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advanced Cell Culture & Protocol Management: Execute and optimize robust organoid culture models. Maintain, update, and standardize standard operating protocols (SOPs) to ensure high reproducibility.
  • Biobank Stewardship: Organize our rapidly growing patient cell bank, ensuring meticulous tracking, quality control, and preservation of patient-derived samples.
  • Data Integration & Collaboration: Organize and curate patient clinical and molecular data, specifically RNAseq and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) datasets. Act as the primary technical liaison to our Data Science team, ensuring biological datasets are clean, well-annotated, and ready for computational pipelines.
  • Experimental Execution: Establish and optimize advanced 3D organoid and organ-on-a-chip models, and design and execute downstream assays and drug-evaluation studies across multiple therapeutic modalities to support target validation and drug discovery pipelines.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: PhD in Cell Biology, Pharmacology, Molecular Biology, or a closely related Life Sciences field.
  • Experience: 1–2 years of post-PhD experience (either in a postdoctoral role or within the biotech/pharma industry).
  • Core Technical Skills:
  • Must-Have: Hands-on, deep expertise in organoid culture systems.
  • Strong Plus: Direct experience with iPSC culture and differentiation protocols, and flow cytometry (including panel design and analysis)
  • Data Literacy: Genuine comfort with genomic data. While you don’t need to be a programmer, you must understand RNAseq and NGS data structures well enough to collaborate effectively with computational biologists.
  • Soft Skills: Impeccable organizational skills (bordering on the obsessive when it comes to sample tracking) and a highly collaborative, team-first mindset.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Dynamic, cross-functional team culture.
  • Paid time off
