Your Role
As the Catering Sales Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in orchestrating exceptional events. Some of your key responsibilities include:
- Develop new accounts through strategic prospecting, referrals, and lead generation.
- Manage all contract negotiations and select business based on hotel occupancy, forecast, and budget.
- Coordinate event details including menus, A/V needs, room specifications, guest rooms, amenities, and transportation.
- Represent the hotel at trade shows and events to enhance visibility and build relationships.
- Oversee client events from planning to execution, ensuring flawless delivery and client satisfaction.
- Communicate with hotel departments to ensure all event requirements are met and services are delivered seamlessly.
- Maximize hotel revenues through up-selling amenities, enforcing cut-off dates, and managing food & beverage cost controls.
- Create and distribute client communications, including Banquet Event Orders and group briefs.
- Plan and execute client-specific tastings and collaborate on event initiatives with the Director of Sales & Marketing.
- Participate in networking and client events to build relationships and generate leads.
- Cultivate professional relationships with clients to maximize catering revenues.
- Stay informed about industry trends, revenue management programs, and food service styles.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 3 years of hotel catering and leadership experience.
- Director-level experience is preferred.
- Proven success in outside sales with a strong ability to generate new business.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a 2 to 4-year college degree is a plus.
- Must be proficient with Windows operating systems and sales/meeting planning software.
- Must have valid driver’s license for applicable state and an acceptable MVR (Motor Vehicle Record).
