What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Library Assistant - Youth & Family Services Department position at Quogue Library?
The Quogue Library is seeking a warm, friendly, enthusiastic, caring, and dedicated individual to join our team. The position requires working with young children and their families.
Hours: Sundays 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM and Thursdays 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Floater Hours: Additional hours to cover staff vacations, illnesses or special library events
Essential Requirements:
- Help patrons locate library materials
- Check in and check out library materials
- Assist with programming and registration in Library Market Provide accurate and courteous assistance to patrons
- Perform routine tasks such as answering phones, organizing files
- Assist with the set up and clean-up of programs
- Misc. projects may be assigned by the Children's Librarian
- Library experience preferred
Qualifications:
- Tech savvy
- Excellent customer service skills working with all ages
- Independent worker Team player
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
Quogue Library is an Association Library and is not subject to Civil Service Requirements.
Salary based on experience.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
