- Current Certificate of Registration in good standing, or eligible for registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current certification in BCLS or CPR, or proof of enrolment in a recertification course. You will be asked to provide a copy of your valid certificate at the time of hire/transfer.
- Critical Care course completed.
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience as an RN supporting post anaesthesia or critical care patients within the past 3 years.
- Capable of coping with a physically demanding workload. (Physical Demands Analysis PDA available to review)
- Utilizes the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care and manages follow up care in the perioperative environment.
- Performs acts requiring specialized knowledge, critical care skills and judgement in assessing health needs and in planning, administering and evaluating patient care for paediatric, adolescent and adult clients.
- Provides health education and procedural teaching for clients and their families.
- Responsible for supervision and guidance of other members of the health care team who contribute to the provision of patient care.
- Maintains nursing records and meets documentation requirements in a computerized environment.
- Participates in CI, continuing education and risk management programs to ensure a high level of patient care.
- Other duties as assigned.
