The Paralegal in this role will support attorneys handling civil defense litigation matters. This is a hands-on position that requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines while working collaboratively with attorneys, clients, and staff in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do
- Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, discovery responses, motions, subpoenas, correspondence, and reports under the attorney's direction
- Prepare and track subpoenas and other requests for information
- Organize, maintain, and manage case files (physical and electronic)
- Monitor case progress and escalate issues requiring attorney involvement
- Maintain and manage attorney calendars, including trial dates and discovery deadlines
- Assist with trial preparation, including compiling exhibits, coordinating materials, and organizing case files
- Conduct legal research and assist with case development as needed
- Review, organize, and summarize case-related documents and records
- Coordinate with clients, experts, and court personnel
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- 3 years of paralegal experience supporting attorneys in civil litigation, preferably in a high-volume law firm environment
- Experience with state and federal court filing, including e-filing systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Paralegal certificate a plus
