SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST
Supervisor: Director of Special Education
Salary Range: QEA Salary Schedule
Location / Assignment: Support Services
Conditions of Work: 180 days
SUMMARY:
To provide a range of psychological services to children 3-21, in conjunction with the District’s philosophy of education and instructional goals. These services may include screening, assessments, evaluation for services, communicating results and working with teams to support individual student needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Assess students using various testing tools.
• Score, report and present evaluations and re-evaluations to IEP teams.
• Collaborate with Support Services staff when looking at special education referrals.
• Participate in evaluation meetings.
• Complete Manifestation Determinations when necessary.
• Keep assessment dates organized and have report meetings completed and turned in by due date for compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Washington State ESA certification for School Psychologist.
• Education and experience that demonstrates expertise in the field of special education assessment, evaluation and identification of current WAC’s
• Knowledge of SPED law, policies and procedures.
• Skill in data-collection, behavioral interventions, Functional Behavioral Assessments and Positive Behavior Intervention Plans.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of data and information as necessary.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with a range of personnel in the district and schools.
• Ability to organize, set priorities, and coordinate required activities.
