The Quincy Chamber of Commerce (Chamber) proudly serves approximately 500 members and manages an annual budget of $750,000. The Chamber also includes the Quincy Economic Development Corporation (QEDC), working together to foster regional growth and prosperity.
Position: Executive Director
As the driving force behind the Chamber’s vision, the Executive Director will implement the strategic direction set by the Board of Directors, overseeing programs and staff within the Quincy Chamber of Commerce and its affiliates. This role calls for a dynamic leader with expertise in strategic planning, member engagement, sales, program management, economic development, public policy advocacy, nonprofit governance, financial management, public speaking, and fundraising.
The Executive Director will have full responsibility for financial stability, profit and loss management, and ensuring organizational compliance. You will be a proactive leader capable of managing ongoing initiatives while spearheading new partnerships with local businesses, community organizations, and regional stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
Reporting Structure
The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors in accordance with the by-laws and meets monthly with the Executive Committee, which includes the Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, and the Immediate Past Chair.

- Proven abilities in human resources, team development, and performance management
- Expertise in coalition building, relationship management, and negotiating complex agreements
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrates integrity, a strong work ethic, and personal accountability
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning & Implementation: Develop and execute the Chamber’s strategic plan in collaboration with the Board.
- Membership Services & Sales: Lead efforts in member acquisition, retention, and stewardship to ensure a thriving membership base.
- Program Management: Oversee and evaluate the design, scheduling, budgeting, and success of Chamber programs and events.
- Economic Development: Foster the Chamber’s role in economic growth through active business engagement.
- Public Policy: Represent the Chamber’s interests on local and state policy issues, developing advocacy strategies and building strategic relationships.
- Nonprofit Governance & Operations: Ensure active engagement and alignment among the Board, volunteers, and governance bodies to support the mission.
Qualifications
- Financial Acumen: Ensure sound financial practices, oversee budget management, and support organizational growth.
- Public Relations & Outreach: Build and maintain a dynamic public image through marketing, media relations, community engagement, and public speaking.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Experience: Proven success in executive management within the private, public, or nonprofit sectors, with increasing responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with experience owning or operating a Quincy-based business, being known within the local business community, or holding leadership roles in local nonprofits will be highly considered.

Compensation commensurate with experience. Salary range: $125,000–$145,000.
