What are the responsibilities and job description for the OUTPATIENT THERAPIST position at QUINCO MENTAL HEALTH CENTER?
Summary: Provides individual, group, and family counseling to adults and children. The therapist treats clients with acute and chronic psychiatric issues. The therapist assists clients in identifying, clarifying, and mediating psychological and interpersonal problems that negatively impact social and occupational functioning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
• Provide approximately twenty-five (25) billable therapy sessions weekly.
• Professionally document each service rendered to a client.
• Conduct diagnostic evaluations to collect relevant clinical data from clients assigned to their caseload.
• Use the data collected to assign a diagnosis and develop an individualized treatment plan in collaboration with the client.
• Develop individual treatment plans that are evidenced-based, solution-focused, and demonstrate observable and measurable treatment objectives.
• Staff new cases with the local multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Refer clients to additional programs as medically necessary.
• Remain aware of current treatment trends and be able to demonstrate that they follow Best Practice Treatment Guidelines.
• Demonstrate verbal and reasoning skills necessary to interact appropriately with support and professional staff.
• Accepts the opportunity to attend assigned meetings, interdisciplinary case consultations, and relevant training programs as deemed helpful by their immediate supervisor.
• Willingness to assist the agency in meeting certification and licensure standards by serving on standing or ad hoc committees.
• Willingness to use their professional skills to assist the public and enhance the organization’s positive image by making an occasional professional presentation to a civic or community group.
• Willingness to serve on local community-related committees as requested by their immediate supervisor.
• Demonstrate the skills and willingness to complete all professional documentation requirements in accordance with established time frames, applicable certification/licensure standards, contract requirements, and policies developed by the agency.
• Achieve and maintain a caseload in accordance with the agency’s Outpatient Program Description.
• Receive favorable findings on client satisfaction surveys.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience: Master’s in psychology, counseling, sociology, or social work, Licensed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, or Clinical Psychologist is preferred.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, clients, and the public.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with basic mathematical functions.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Ability to interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
