We are seeking a dedicated nurse to provide high-quality clinical services to patients who are in treatment and recovery for substance use disorders. You will work closely with interdisciplinary provider teams to ensure coordinated, continuous, and high-quality patient care aligned with the mission and vision of the Quinault Wellness Center.

This role provides direct supervisory leadership to nursing and clinical support staff, ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and adherence to quality care standards. QWC’s core clinical focus areas include chronic disease management (Hepatitis C, hypertension, Type 2 diabetes, and behavioral health conditions), transitional care coordination across healthcare settings, health maintenance, immunization oversight, and wound care management.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership & Patient Care

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments addressing acute and chronic conditions
• Develop, implement, monitor, and adjust individualized care plans
• Provide care coordination for chronic disease and transitional care patients across providers and systems
• Triage patient telephone calls and support clinical decision-making
• Collaborate with providers on dosing evaluations for Substance Use Disorder (SUD) patients
• Support Hepatitis C tracking, documentation, and preparation for ECHO presentations
• Ensure continuity of care, including health maintenance, wound care, and preventive services

Supervision & Staff Management

• Supervise, manage, and evaluate LPNs, RNs, MAs, and UA technicians
• Hire, schedule, coach, discipline, and terminate clinical staff as appropriate
• Ensure staff accountability, performance standards, and professional development
• Conduct and coordinate staff in-services and clinical education programs

Program & Operational Oversight

• Develop systems to track patient compliance with clinical guidelines and care plans
• Oversee immunization program including ordering, inventory control, logs, and staff training
• Manage medical supply ordering, tracking, and inventory control
• Ensure accurate documentation, billing, and coding for services rendered
• Monitor regulatory compliance across clinical operations (state, federal, and program requirements)

Quality, Compliance & Collaboration

• Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA, PHI protections, and 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality standards
• Follow OSHA standards, including universal precautions and hazardous materials handling
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, committees, and quality improvement initiatives
• Contribute to data collection, clinical research support, and application of evidence-based practice
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in patient records

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of professional Registered Nurse experience
• Experience in primary care and/or substance use disorder treatment settings

Knowledge Requirements:

• Primary care, mental health, and addiction medicine practices
• Chronic disease management (Hepatitis C, diabetes, hypertension, etc.)
• Sexually transmitted infection management and family planning principles
• Clinical assessment, diagnosis support, and treatment planning
• Medication properties, interactions, and preventive care standards

Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge:

• HIPAA and protected health information (PHI) requirements
• 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality regulations
• Washington State RCW/WAC healthcare compliance standards

• Proficiency with electronic health records and standard office software
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and ethical standards
• Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural healthcare environment, with understanding of historical trauma and community context
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Ability to successfully pass a criminal background investigation, reference check, and drug screening (including marijuana)

Licensure

• Current Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years of supervisory or leadership experience in a clinical setting
• Experience working in a Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) or Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) clinic
• Experience in integrated primary care and behavioral health settings

Working Conditions

• Work is primarily performed in an indoor healthcare or office environment for up to 10 hours per day, with frequent interaction with patients, staff, and visitors in a fast-paced setting.
• This position may require travel between assigned work locations throughout the Aberdeen, Washington area. Employees are responsible for providing reliable transportation unless otherwise authorized.
• The work environment may involve exposure to odors, fumes, gases, airborne particles, moving mechanical equipment, and biological hazards commonly found in healthcare settings. Occasional exposure to cleaning agents and other chemicals, wet or humid conditions, electrical equipment, elevated work areas, vibration, and temperature variations may occur. Appropriate PPE and safety protocols are provided and must be followed.
