What are the responsibilities and job description for the JANITOR position at QUIETFLEX MANUFACTURING CO LP?
This position is responsible for cleaning projects and housekeeping throughout the offices, facility and plant. Work includes cleaning indoors to maintain the interior of the community and outdoors to maintain the exterior.
Position Responsibilities may include:
- Performs a variety of cleaning/maintenance duties as assigned including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, trash disposal in and outside the facility, replacing light bulbs and window cleaning, cobwebs, etc.
- Informs Supervisor of needed supplies.
- Maintains all cleaning solutions in accordance to OSHA requirements for hazardous chemicals.
- Removes trash from premises and assists in emergency cleaning.
- Ability to properly utilize new equipment and follow safety procedures prior to using this equipment.
- Maintains friendly and professional attitude and working relationship with the building staff.
- Responsible for maintaining the appropriate level of sanitary and cleaning supplies for assigned areas.
- Inspects all assigned areas daily and reports all cleaning and maintenance discrepancies to Supervisor.
- Ensures that security procedures are adhered to at all times.
- Ensures all safety precautions are followed while performing work.
- Completes daily work orders as scheduled.
- Maintains assigned equipment in good working condition.
- As applicable, cleans restrooms: Sweeps and mops floors. Refills all dispensers such as hand towels, toilet paper & hand soap. Cleans toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors & counters. Empties/removes trash. Reports any discrepancies or deficiencies to supervisor.
- Ability to properly utilize new equipment and follow safety procedures prior to using this equipment.
- Maintaining a safe and healthful work environment by practicing safe work habits, good housekeeping procedures and adhering to safety guidelines.
- Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.

Knowledge & Skills:
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to plan ahead and prioritize workload.
- Ability to operate equipment safely, effectively, and efficiently.
- Ability to use hand-tools such as leaf blowers, etc. as required for position.
- MS Office such as Outlook-Email
- Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Ability to apply good judgement, strong work ethics and integrity on the job.
Competency:
Experience:
- Minimum (2) years custodial experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
People Management: No
Physical Requirements / Work Environment:
- Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Some lifting (up to 20 lbs.).
- Long hours on a computer keyboard.
- Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking.
- Must be able to walk 3 to 5 miles a day.
- Standing, walking, bending, stooping.
