Job Description
Quicksilver Express Courier is seeking an underweight Freight Driver to join our team. This role is responsible for the safe and timely pickup and delivery of packages and palletized freight to customers in the region. As the face of Quicksilver, drivers provide reliable, courteous service while ensuring all equipment is inspected, maintained, and operated safely.
This is a W2 employee position — all drivers at Quicksilver are employees, not independent contractors.
Responsibilities include:
- Safely operate an underweight vehicle for local pickups and deliveries
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and maintain safe driving practices
- Load, unload, and handle freight with care, using appropriate equipment such as pallet jacks and lift gates
- Use a smartphone dispatch application to receive and complete assignments (training provided)
- Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, and coworkers
- Complete the required DOT and company paperwork accurately
- Adhere to DOT regulations, including hours of service, breaks, and rest requirements
- Minimum of 1 year in a non-CDL Underweight Truck
- Proven safe driving record (7 years; no more than one minor violation in last 5 years; no DUI or careless driving within last 5 years)
- Ability to lift packages weighing up to 70 lbs. regularly and 99 lbs. occasionally
- Ability to move palletized loads up to 3,000 lbs. with pallet jack assistance
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with customers professionally
- Must pass a DOT physical, drug and alcohol test, and work simulation screening as required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
