The Intermediate Level Casting Technician is responsible for producing urethane castings
Primary Job Functions
- Prep tooling for the casting process
- Select material to be cast from job traveler/cast schedule
- Determine material and correct shot weight by calculating volume
- Determine correct mix ratios of materials and percentage of pigment if applicable
- Cast urethane parts using various methods
High school diploma or GED
Experience
Basic knowledge and maintenance of casting equipment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Basic math skills
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
- Basic communication reading and writing skills, good comprehension
- Ability to operate wood working equipment as needed
- Recognize any trouble areas in tooling and report to the department lead or supervisor
- Safe working knowledge of all pressure vessels
- This position requires the ability to stand, stoop, and bend for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
- This position requires the manual dexterity sufficient to operate common manufacturing machinery and hand tools.
- Must speak clearly using the English language to accurately convey information and be able to hear at normal speaking levels.
- Must be able to visually read the work instructions, gages, and monitors required to complete daily tasks.
- Regularly required to lift up to 25 pounds, frequently required to lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally required to lift up to 100 pounds.
