Quickparts is hiring a 3D Printer Maintenance Manager to lead, shape, and elevate our equipment maintenance operations at our Seattle facility. This is not a desk-only role. You will be deeply embedded in our operations — on the floor, diagnosing issues, leading technicians, and inside our systems — driving real change across our 3D printing equipment network.

You will own our maintenance strategy, personally lead implementation, and be the driving force behind world-class equipment reliability that supports our production, engineering, and quality goals.

Why This Role Matters

Our maintenance function is critical to operational efficiency, equipment reliability, and scalable production. As Maintenance Manager, you will:

✔ Lead and execute preventive maintenance strategy for all 3D printing equipment

✔ Drive hands-on troubleshooting and repair across the shop floor

✔ Build systems that reduce downtime and extend machine lifespan

✔ Serve as a visible leader on the floor, coaching and developing technicians

✔ Be the owner of equipment records, capital planning, and safety compliance

What You'll Do

  • Develop, implement, and manage preventive maintenance programs for all 3D printing equipment to reduce downtime and extend machine lifespan
  • Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, providing training, support, and performance evaluations
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues related to 3D printers promptly and effectively
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to optimize printer performance and integrate new technologies
  • Maintain detailed maintenance records, prepare reports on equipment status, and recommend capital investments for upgrades or replacements
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies related to equipment operation and maintenance
  • Manage inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies to ensure availability and cost efficiency
  • Stay current with emerging 3D printing technologies and industry best practices to recommend upgrades and process enhancements

What We're Looking For

  • 5 years of experience in maintenance management, preferably with 3D printing or advanced manufacturing equipment
  • Strong knowledge of 3D printing technologies, including FDM, SLA, SLS, or similar additive manufacturing processes
  • Proven experience leading and managing technical teams in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic systems
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field preferred
  • Certification in 3D printing technology or additive manufacturing (e.g., SME Additive Manufacturing Certification) preferred
  • Experience with maintenance management software (CMMS) and inventory control systems preferred
  • Familiarity with CAD software and 3D printer firmware preferred
  • Knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001 and AS9100 preferred
  • Strong project management skills and experience implementing continuous improvement methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma preferred

Working Environment / Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand, stoop, and bend for a minimum of 8 hours per day
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate common manufacturing machinery and hand tools
  • Must speak clearly using the English language to accurately convey information and be able to hear at normal speaking levels
  • Must be able to visually read the work instructions, gauges, and monitors required to complete daily tasks
  • Regularly required to lift up to 25 pounds and frequently required to lift up to 50 pounds

Safety Requirements

  • Required to observe all safety standards and rules
  • Required to report all injuries to supervisor and Human Resources within 24 hours
  • Personal protective equipment must be worn as required by the job

  • Direct access to Plant Manager and site leadership
  • Real ownership — your work shapes equipment reliability and site performance
  • High-growth, global organization
  • Complex technical challenges
  • Ability to leave a legacy maintenance system behind
  • Strong culture of accountability and collaboration
