Job Title: Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical
As a Registered Nurse in the Medical/Surgical department, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. Your expertise will be essential in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans while collaborating with a dynamic team of healthcare professionals. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of patients and their families during their recovery journey.
13 week contract; start date asap; Day 5:45a-6:15p, ACU (Acute Care Unit)
$2700/week (with stipends)
Required Certifications: BLS
Minimum of 2 years experience working in a Med Surg unit. Previous experience working in a community or rural hospital setting is required. Will float to ED, OB and Behavioral Health as a “task nurse” as needed. BLS (American Heart Association) is required.
12 hour shifts; 5:45a-6:15p and 5:45p-6:15a, will work every third weekend.
Self scheduling unit - CCH staff chooses first, then travelers will be able to schedule afterwards
Charting system: All scripts
Dress code: Any color of professional scrubs. No facility names or previous employers may be displayed on the scrubs. No acrylic nails, hair color should be of a natural color.
What you’ll do
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to identify needs and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
- Monitor vital signs and patient conditions, responding promptly to any changes or emergencies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families on health management, treatment plans, and post-discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and institutional policies.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems for efficient documentation and communication.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and care delivery.
Basic qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and nursing practices.
