- Experience: 2 years (Acute Care)
- Contract: 13 weeks
- Hours: 36 per week (Guaranteed)
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 6pm–6:30am
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, NRP, PALS, TNCC
Job Overview
In this fast-paced role, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the Emergency Room setting. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality medical services to patients experiencing acute health issues. Your expertise will be crucial in managing emergencies, performing critical interventions, and ensuring adherence to best practices.
What you’ll do
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine immediate needs and prioritize care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed while monitoring for effectiveness.
- Utilize advanced medical technologies and EMR systems to document patient information accurately.
- Provide triage services to prioritize patient care based on severity of conditions.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans.
- Educate patients and families on health management, treatment options, and discharge planning.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and NCQA standards to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Participate in continuous education and training to stay updated on emergency medicine protocols.
Basic qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in emergency medicine or critical care settings.
- Familiarity with Epic or Cerner EMR systems for efficient documentation.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 coding for accurate medical recordkeeping.
- Proficiency in IV insertion, medication administration, and airway management techniques.
- Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
