Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Local Hazmat Tanker Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently within designated routes. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial driving practices, as well as the ability to unload tankers using air and/or a pump. If you have a passion for driving and ensuring timely deliveries, we encourage you to apply. Driver will need to be able to go out one to two nights a week as needed. We put you in a hotel and pay an overnight bonus. We pay hourly wage, W2 and have a full benefits package.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles on designated routes to deliver goods to customers.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of items during transit.
- Perform routine inspections of vehicles before and after trips to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel usage, and delivery confirmations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
- Assist in the training of new drivers as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with route driving and navigation systems is essential.
- Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles is desirable.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial driving is important.
- Previous tanker trucks is an advantage.
