POSITION SUMMARY

The Sr. Quality Manager develops, implements, leads, and periodically evaluates a program to ensure the organization’s quality and compliance to internal and external standards of finished products and their respective raw materials, primary sourced through external suppliers located in Asia. This position also manages all aspects of quality engineering and assurance that support the product development team, resolving quality issues, defects, and other potential issues while ensuring that products meet internal specifications, agency requirements and customer expectations. They also develop short and long-term goals, objectives, and performance standards, driving results through direct and indirect reports within the organization.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Collaborate with the company’s executive leadership team to develop and meet organizational goals while supplying expertise and guidance on projects, operations, and systems.

·        Develop strategic corrective actions in case performance according to quality department objectives.

·        Drive improvements and maintenance including upgrades to the quality management system.

·        Partner with our Product Management and Engineering teams to successfully execute external testing and listing to third-party requirements (e.g., IAPMO, NSF, UL, CSA, etc.)

·        Develop and prioritize key quality improvement projects from concept to inception and through the execution of the project plan, both internally and with external suppliers.

·        Manage the evaluation, determination, and delivery of the quality management system training to company personnel.

·        Manage, develop, and guide the quality team including but not limited to new product development, supplier development, PPAP and inspection of vendors in Asia, receiving inspection in East Providence, lab activities and defective product / warranty case management.

·        Implement an ISO-9001:2015 compliant quality system including but not limited to a robust Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), compliance rigor and surveillance programs to ensure on-going quality and governance to standards both internally and externally.

·        Manage continuous improvement activities, internal and external audits.

·        Develop and maintain a cooperative relationship with the engineering department to ensure a knowledge exchange of materials/components and real-world product development.

·        Conduct management reviews in accordance with TS-16949 quality system requirements.

·        Provide input to the resolution of quality issues and respond to internal and external inspection findings as necessary.

·        Perform other duties as assigned.


SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS

•     Recruit, interview, hire, and train all staff in the department in North America and Asia.

•     Oversee the daily workflow of the department.

•     Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.

•     Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

·        Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or related industrial, scientific, or business field required.

·        At least 3-5 years of related experience required.

·        Lean, Six Sigma and Quality systems knowledge/expertise

·        Business Intelligence tools/software knowledge

·        Strong project management aptitude and personal characteristics required.


·        Global experience, Asia preferred.

·        Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

PHYSICAL & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

·        Less than 20% international travel involved.

·        Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

·        Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
