Job DescriptionLow Voltage Technician / Fire Alarm InstallerLocation: Port Orange, FL & surrounding areasWe are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician / Fire Alarm Installer to support commercial projects in Port Orange, Florida, and nearby locations. This role focuses on the installation, programming, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm and low-voltage systems while ensuring full compliance with local, state, and national fire codes.Candidates must have prior fire alarm installation experience and meet all site and safety requirements, including obtaining a JLA badge.Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesInstall, wire, terminate, and troubleshoot fire alarm systems, including panels, initiating devices, notification appliances, and power suppliesPerform low-voltage cabling (CAT5/6, FPL/FPLP, coax, and related wiring)Program and test fire alarm control panels as requiredConduct system inspections, testing, and commissioningRead and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documentsEnsure all installations comply with NFPA standards and Florida/local fire codesIdentify, diagnose, and resolve system issues efficientlyCoordinate with project managers, inspectors, and other trades on siteComplete daily work reports and required documentation accuratelyMaintain tools, materials, and a clean, organized job siteFollow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelinesCertifications & RequirementsFASA Certification – Required or willing to obtain BASA Certification – Preferred (often held alongside FASA) or willing to obtainAbility to obtain and maintain a JLA BadgePrior experience installing commercial fire alarm systemsStrong knowledge of fire alarm devices, wiring methods, and testing proceduresPhysical & Work RequirementsAbility to work from ladders, lifts, and scaffoldingAbility to lift up to 50 lbsComfortable working in active construction sites and occupied buildingsReliable attendance and punctuality
