Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Pipefitter to perform journeyman-level installation of HVAC piping and equipment on a large construction project in Chesapeake, VA. This position requires strong industrial experience and the ability to work from contract documents, drawings, and work orders. The selected candidate will also provide technical guidance and direction to lower-level employees as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform journeyman-level installation of HVAC piping and equipment in accordance with contract documents and project drawings.
- Break flanges and reconnect Schedule 40 piping as specified.
- Ensure piping materials and joint types meet project-specific requirements outlined in requisitions.
- Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders for accurate installation.
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to less experienced team members.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, following all company and site safety policies.
Project Phases:
- Week 1: Staging and setup phase — preparing materials, reviewing plans, and understanding project scope.
- Week 2: Execution phase — performing piping installation and equipment connections as outlined above.
Qualifications:
- Industrial or commercial pipefitting experience required.
- Proficient in HVAC piping systems and reading mechanical drawings.
- Skilled in working with Schedule 40 piping and flange connections.
- Ability to use trade tools safely and effectively.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Journeyman-level skillset preferred.
Job Type: Temporary
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
