What You'll Own
- Provide leadership and mentoring to junior team members, including review and sign-off on their work
- Prepare and review journal entries; monitor account activity to ensure accurate, GAAP-compliant financial records
- Own general ledger reconciliations end-to-end — research, resolve, and document with precision
- Design, implement, and maintain accounting workflow processes and internal controls
- Identify and recommend control improvements as products, regulations, or corporate policies evolve
- Prepare sophisticated financial analyses, variance reports, and management commentary that tell the real story behind the numbers
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of management, regulatory, and financial reporting
- Lead coordination for internal and external audits; partner with Accounting Policy on regulatory requests
- Support development of economic models and assist in building new accounting procedures as the business scales
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration
- 3 years of relevant accounting experience
- Working knowledge of GAAP principles
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational ability
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills
- Ability to meet deadlines independently and as part of a team
- CPA or CMA (or actively pursuing)
- Master's degree in Accounting or Business Administration
- 5 years of financial services accounting experience
- P&C insurance or MGA/MGU background strongly preferred
